The Golden Child of Narcissistic parents
As the name suggests the golden child is the one the narcissistic parent (or parents) pick to be the extension of themselves. This child is a reflection of the total wonderfulness of the narcissistic parent. The parent will project all their own wants and needs onto the child.
The golden child will want for nothing and can do no wrong. She will always get the best of everything and this will continue into adulthood hen she will get extravagant gifts such as cars, houses and the perfect wedding .
Every achievement no matter how small will be celebrated and admired anything she does wrong will simply be swept under the carpet.

Real Life Accounts of Being The Golden Child on Reddit
Eye opening and heartbreaking, I feel ashamed now that I used to envy my sister her seemingly perfect life as the golden child. She was the one who got took away on exotic holidays all the nice new clothes and got her hair done at the hairdressers. My brother and I had to make do with our stepmum cutting our hair in the kitchen with various degrees of success and us hoping for the best. After reading this however I feel nothing but sympathy for the claustrophobic controlled life of the golden child.
When it comes down to it all the children in a family with a narcissist at the helm is a victim of brainwashing and abuse from a very young age. They are manipulated and controlled into whatever the narcissist wants them to be and find it very hard to have any sort of life or identity of their own. For anyone who still envies the life of a golden child I highly recommend you read this story and see how it is from the other side, you will be surprised.
